“Really?” I was surprised.

“Yes. Now you can take that candy and go back to class.”

I carried the candy with me as if it was a gold coin. When I got into my classroom, I bragged (吹噓) to my classmates about my turnaround, excitedly. I wasn’t so bad after all.

Mr. Ratcliff was really kind. He made me realize that I was just a kid who had problems with behavior. He bought some candies and took the time to notice me when I got something - anything - right. Mr. Ratcliff gave me some hope by giving me some love. I will just remember him for the rest of my life.

But since they live in the wild，there should be few chances for humans to come into contact with them and get infected—unless the animals are eaten or used to make animal products. When people hunt， buy and eat wild animals， they can introduce viruses to the rest of the population.

But this doesn’t mean that we should kill wild animals. Each species has a role in the eco-system (生態(tài)系統(tǒng)) and all of them are important in keeping a natural ecological balance. The lesson we can learn from disease outbreaks is to respect and protect animals and to live in harmony with them instead of hunting，killing，or eating them.
