13.A new word is taking the internet by storm in China-but no one knows quite what it means.
The character"duang"is so new that it does not even exist in the Chinese dictionary.But it has already spread like wildfire online in China,appearing more than 8million times on China's micro-blogging site Weibo,where it spawned a top-trending hashtag that drew 312,000discussions among 15,000users.On China's biggest online search engine Baidu,it has been looked up almost 600,000times.It's been noticed in the West too,with Foreign Policy seeing it as a"break the internet"viral meme-like a certain Kim Kardashian image,or a certain multicoloured dress.
But what does it mean?
"Everyone's duang-ing and I still don't know what it means!Looks like it's back to school for me,"said Weibo user Weileiweito.
Another user asked:"Have you duang-ed today?My mind is full of duang duang duang."
"To duang or not to duang, that is the question,"wrote user BaiKut automan.
"Duang"seems to be an example of onomatopoeia,a word that phonetically imitates a sound.It all seems to have started with Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan,who in 2004was featured in a shampoo commercial where he said famously defended his sleek,black hair using the rhythmical-sounding"duang".The word resurfaced again recently after Chan posted it on his Weibo page.Thousands of users then began to flood Chan's Weibo page with comments,coining the word in reference to his infamous shampoo appearance.
The word appears to have many different meanings,and there's no perfect translation,but you could use it as an adjective to give emphasis to the word that follows it.A kitten might be"duang cute",for example.Or you might be"very duang confused"by this blog.
For readers of Chinese characters, the Jackie Chan theme is also apparent from the quirky way in which the word is written:a combination of Chan's names written in Chinese.

36.Which of the following statement is true?A
A.Kim Kardashian image is mentioned because it is a similar social phenomenon like"duang".

C.Baidu is the biggest online search engine in the world.

C.A new word is added to the Chinese dictionary.
D.The character"duang"is taking the internet by storm in China.

解答 36.A. 由第二段a"break the internet"viral meme-like a certain Kim Kardashian image,打破互聯(lián)網(wǎng)病毒基因就像卡戴珊的圖象一樣很火,而前文的duang就是一種互聯(lián)網(wǎng)大熱的現(xiàn)象,故選A.
37.D. But what does it mean,可知這三段都是作者想借網(wǎng)絡(luò)用戶的說(shuō)法指出duang的意思.故選D.
38.A. It all seems to have started with Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, who in 2004was featured in a shampoo commercial,這都起源于香港動(dòng)作明星成龍?jiān)?004年拍攝的洗發(fā)水廣告.股攢A.
39.C. 由第八段and there's no perfect translation,可知,duang并沒(méi)有完美的英語(yǔ)翻譯,C選項(xiàng)錯(cuò)誤,故選C.

1.The term"Industry 4.0"refers to the fourth industrial revolution.The first industrial revolution was the production of goods with machines like steam engines,which was followed by the second industrial revolution that introduced mass production with the help of electric power,followed by the digital revolution-the use of electronics and IT in production.
Industry 4.0is a high-tech project,which promotes the computerization of manufacturing (制造業(yè)).The basic principle of Industry 4.0is that by connecting machines,work pieces and systems,we are creating intelligent networks along the entire value chain that can control each other automatically.The goal is the Smart Factory,which adapts well and uses resources efficiently as well as linking customers and business partners with great intelligence.Technological basis are the Internet systems and advanced factories.Experts believe that Industry 4.0could be a reality in about 10to 20years.
So,what effects does this change have on the classic manufacturing?According to an expert,"it is highly likely that the world of production will become more and more networked until everything is connected with everything else."Networks and processes have so far been limited to one factory.But in the time of Industry 4.0,the boundaries (界限) of individual factories will most likely no longer exist.Instead,they will be lifted in order to inter-connect multiple factories or even geographical regions.
How is an Industry 4.0factory different from a today's factory?In current industry environment,providing high-end quality service or product with the least cost is the key to success.Factories are trying to increase their profit as much as possible.In the time of Industry 4.0,various data sources are available to provide worthwhile information about different aspects of the factory.Using data for understanding the current condition and checking faults and failures is a natural thing.The sharing of information around the clock and around the globe will enable these connected systems to manage themselves independently,work more efficiently and identify any errors quickly.
The good news is that Europe is much better prepared for the Industry 4.0revolution than one might think.Europe will position itself as a pioneer in the fourth revolution.Industry 4.0is a project in the high-tech strategy of the German government.Meanwhile,in the U.S.,some companies are also working hard on it.But the success of industry depends on whether business and politics can work together.It's not only politics that needs to help open the door for Industry 4.0.Every company is advised to seize the new digital opportunities.

50.What marks the coming of Industry 4.0D?
A.Steam engines.
B.Mass production.
C.Use of electronics.
D.Intelligent networks.
51.Industry 4.0will probably result inB in the world of manufacturing.

B.Global news broadcast at any time.
C.Instant worldwide information exchange.
D.Spreading news widely on the hour.

8.In modern society there is a great deal of argument about competition.Some value it highly,believing that it is responsible for social progress and prosperity.Others say that competition is bad; that it sets one person against another; that it leads to unfriendly relationship between people.
I have taught many children who held the belief that their self-worth relied (依賴) on how well they performed at tennis and other skills.For them,playing well and winning are often life-and-death affairs.In their single-minded pursuit (追求) of success,the development of many other human qualities is sadly forgotten.
However,while some seem to be lost in the desire to succeed,others take an opposite attitude.In a culture which values only the winner and pays no attention to the ordinary players,they strongly blame competition.Among the most vocal are youngsters who have suffered under competitive pressures from their parents or society.Teaching these young people,I often observe in them a desire to fail.They seem to seek failure by not trying to win or achieve success.By not trying,they always have an excuse:"I may have lost,but it doesn't matter because I really didn't try."What is not usually admitted by themselves is the belief that if they had really tried and lost,that would mean a lot.Such a loss would be a measure of their worth.Clearly,this belief is the same as that of the true competitors who try to prove themselves.Both are based on the mistaken belief that one's self-respect relies on how well one performs in comparison with others.Both are afraid of not being valued.Only as this basic and often troublesome fear begins to dissolve(緩解)can we discover a new meaning in competition.

51.What does this passage mainly talk aboutB?
A.Competition helps to set up self-respect.
B.Opinions about competition are different among people.
C.Competition is harmful to personal quality development.
D.Failures are necessary experiences in competition.
52.Why do some people favor competition according to the passageA?
A.It pushes society forward.
B.It builds up a sense of duty.
C.It improves personal abilities.
D.It encourages individual efforts.
53.The underlined phrase"the most vocal"in Paragraph 3meansC.
A.those who try their best to win
B.those who value competition most highly
C.those who are against competition most strongly
D.those who rely on others most for success
54.What is the similar belief of the true competitors and those with a"desire to fail"A?
A.One's worth lies in his performance compared with others.
B.One's success in competition needs great efforts.
C.One's achievement is determined by his particular skills.
D.One's success is based on how hard he has tried.
55.Which point of view may the author agree toD?
A.Every effort should be paid back.
B.Competition should be encouraged.
C.Winning should be a life-and-death matter.
D.Fear of failure should be removed in competition.

During the following months, her hospital stays became frequent and she worried about her children. One day when I entered her room,I found her talking into a tape recorder. She picked up a notebook and held it out to me."I'm making a tape for my daughters,"she said.I read the list on her pad:starting school, confirmation, turning 16,first date, graduation. While I worried how to help her deal with death, she was planning for her children's future. She usually waited until the early hours of the morning to record the tapes so she could be free from interruptions. She filled them with family stories and advice, trying to cram a lifetime of love into a few precious hours. Finally, every item in her notes had been checked off and she entrusted the tapes to her husband.
I often wondered what I would say in her place. My kids joked that I was like an FBI agent, with my constant questions about where they'd been and who they'd been with.Where,I thought, are my words of encouragement and love?
It was three o'clock one afternoon when I got an urgent call from the hospital.Rebekah wanted me to come immediately with a blank tape. She was breathing hard when I entered her room.I slipped the tape into the recorder and held the microphone to her lips."Ruthie,Hannah,Molly, this is the most important tape."She held my hand and closed her eyes."Someday your daddy will bring home a new mommy. Please make her feel special.Show her how to take care of you.Ruthie, honey, help her get your Brownie uniform ready each Tuesday.Hannah, tell her you don't want meat sauce on your spaghetti.Molly, don't get mad if there's no apple juice.Drink something else. It's okay to be sad, sweeties.Jesus cried too.He knows about sadness and will help you to be happy again.Remember,I'll always love you.I shut off the recorder and Rebekah sighed deeply."Thank you,Nan,"You'll give this one to them, won't you?"she murmured as she slid into sleep.
A time would come when the tape would be played for Rebekah's children, but right then, after I smoothed Rebekah's blanket,I got in my car and hurried home.I thought of how my Shannon also liked her sauce on the side and suddenly that quirk, which had annoyed me so many times, seemed to make her so much more precious. That night the kids didn't go out; they sat with me long after the spaghetti sauce had dried onto the dishes. And we talked, without interrogations, without complaints, late into the night.
