have access to使用,接近可以利用。

He is a teacher loved by his students.

We needed much more qualified workers.

My friend is a returned student.

They decided to change the material used.

The student dressed in white is my daughter. =The student who is dressed in white is my daughter.

3. 如果被修飾的詞是由every/some/any/no + thing/body/one所構(gòu)成的復(fù)合代詞或指示代詞those等時(shí),即使一個(gè)單一的分詞作形容詞用,也要放在被修飾詞的后面。

例如:Is there anything unsolved?

There is nothing changed here since I left this town.

This is a state-owned factory.

This is our school-run factory.

Like many thickly populated urban neighborhoods, Lincoln Park also has rats. A lot of rats. “Every night when I walk down the sidewalk, I see rats, ” says 36-year-oId Kelly McGee, who has come to accept this aspect of city living. “It's an urban area; I don't know what else we can expect.”
McGee lives just down the block from the old Children's Memorial Hospital, which is about to be torn down as part of a massive redevelopment project. “Construction all over the city often disturbs rats that are living underground,” says Lincoln Park’s City Council representative, Alderman Michele Smith. “Every developer has to do active rat reduction on site, ”Smith says. Already, there are poisonous and inviting food boxes all around the old hospital complex. But the developer of the hospital site still warned residents in a recent community meeting that when digging begins later this month, the rat problem could be awful.
Victoria Thomas, who lives a few miles north of Lincoln Park in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood, says she tried everything from underground fencing to poison traps to wipe out rats, but nothing worked until she got some cats. From the first day she got the cats, Thomas says the rats started to disappear.
“The cats will kill off a great deal of the initial population of the rats, ”says Paul Nickerson, who manages the Cats at Work program for Tree House Humane Society. “And through spreading their pheromones, a chemical produced by an animal, the cats will keep other rats from filling their absence.” Nickerson says that is what makes the cat program so successful in keeping rats away for the long term. ” The rats are far from stupid. They smell the cats’ pheromones so they’ll stay out of the cats’ territory(領(lǐng)域).”
After Smith highlighted the program in a recent newsletter, Nickerson and Tree House Humane Society have been getting lots of calls from people seeking their own cat colonies. That means a lot more wild cats that might otherwise be killed out of pity will be cared for while doing something that they love: hunting rats.
(1)What is McGee’s attitude towards the rat problem?
A.Indifferent.
B.Tolerant.
C.Annoyed.
D.Frightened.
(2)What does the underlined word in the last but one paragraph refer to?
A.Rats’ stupidity.
B.Tree House Humane Society.
C.Cat’s nature of killing rats.
D.The smell of cat’s pheromones.
(3)What does the last paragraph suggest?
A.The program is a win-win thing.
B.Cats should be taken good care of.
C.Wild cats are more skilled at hunting.
D.It's important to keep the ecological balance.

Your telephone is running low on power while you are waiting to fly out of an airport.
Then you discover a public USB charging area close by.Then you take a deep breath and sit back, happy to get the power for free.
What could go wrong? Plenty.
In addition to providing an electrical current, phone charging cords can send and receive data. That free USB charging hub at an airport, hotel or any other public place may not only charge your phone. The USB charging hub could be connecting to your phone and copying your contact list, email and text messages, voice mail, photographs and videos. It can also copy passwords, banking information and any other information stored on your phone.
If you want to charge your phone while traveling, you have other choices that do not increase your risks.
Connect your phone only to electrical outlets so data transfer is not possible. It is better to use a distant wall outlet than a nearby USB charging hub.

Why do we go to zoos? Millions of people around the world visit zoos each year, but the reason is hard to explain .1 But the animals they see in zoos are little like the toys, cartoons, and decorations that fill their homes. For such children, meeting with real animals can be confusing, even upsetting.

The great interest that children have in animals today might lead one to suppose that this has always been the case. 2That was also when zoos became an important part of middle-class life.

3They lived together with our ancestors in a shared natural environment. In the Industrial Era, the human domination (支配)of animals could be seen in the popularity of real-looking animal toys. Children rode rocking-horses that had realistic features, and they slept with bears, tigers, and rabbits that looked and felt almost real. The Twentieth Century marked a further development--the change of animals into people.

This was the age of Babar the Elephant, Hello Kitty, and the Lion King. Parents and children had previously wanted animals that looked like animals.4.

In a zoo they hope to see the living breathing versions of their character friends. They find instead unfamiliar creatures who cannot speak, smile, or interact with them. For this reason, a visit to the zoo can be disappointing for children today.5 Meeting real animals reminds us forcefully of the boundary between imagination and reality.

When we visit animals in a zoo, perhaps we will recall our true relationship not only to animals but to the entire world.

A. Animals are the best friends of the human beings.

B. Most of children are looking forward to visiting zoos.

C. Perhaps that disappointment is the best gift a zoo can offer.

D. But now they want animals that look and act like humans

E. Yet, it was not until the Industrial Era that animals became part of childhood.

F. In prehistoric times, there had been no zoos, as animals were a real part of the human world.

G. Many of those visitors are children, whose lives are already surrounded by animals’ images.
