There are a lot of people who are overweight all over the world. What causes obesity? If you get the gene(基因), well, probably you are going to be a few more pounds heavier compared to the rest of your classmates or friends. Obesity can not only make a person look heavy, and not in the usual sense of being handsome, but can also lead to serious health conditions and life-threatening diseases.
Indeed, junk food has been blamed for the prevalence(流行)of obesity. It is called junk food, because hamburger, pizza and the like contain high calories. If you eat a Big Mac (a super hamburger), an order of large fries, and a large Coke, you will need to walk non-stop for six hours to burn off the calories you have gained. And don't be fooled by soft drinks, which are high in sugar and are a major cause of obesity.
Popular sugary drinks, of course, include Coca Cola, Pepsi(百事) Cola, and many new brands that appear on the market every couple of days.
Just one 20-ounce (about 567g) bottle of soda can have 250 calories, which are equal to more than 16 teaspoons of added sugars. Even a lemon-flavored iced tea can have 210 calories.
Next time, when you are ready to eat that huge Mac and to drink that two-liter bottle of Pepsi, probably it's a good idea to give it a second thought.
A. Obesity is more common in women than men.
B. Most people don't realize how easy it is to gain weight from drink sugar-sweetened beverages(飲料)
C. When we talk about obesity, the first thought that comes to mind is: junk food.
D. The unburnt calories will put weight on you.
E. Keeping healthy is our own responsibility.
F. Because of their high content of sugar, soft drinks are also called sugary drinks.
G. However, the most common cause of obesity is eating too much, especially too much junk food.

G. However, the most common cause of obesity is eating too much, especially too much junk food.

Indeed, junk food has been blamed for the prevalence(流行)of obesity. C. When we talk about obesity, the first thought that comes to mind is: junk food.

B. Most people don't realize how easy it is to gain weight from drink sugar-sweetened beverages(飲料)大部分人沒有意識到它是多么容易從喝含糖飲料增加體重F. Because of their high content of sugar, soft drinks are also called sugary drinks.

B. Most people don't realize how easy it is to gain weight from drink sugar-sweetened beverages(飲料)大部分人沒有意識到它是多么容易從喝含糖飲料增加體重。

E. Keeping healthy is our own responsibility.

Whether you love happy endings or a dark reality in TV dramas, you could soon be able to decide what you get. Netflix, the TV-streaming company behind hit shows such as The Crown and House Of Cards,is working on ways to give viewers control of key plot decisions.

Some of the storylines will be simple and linear, like the Choose Your Own Adventure books that many grew up with. For example, viewers might decide whether a prisoner in the drama Orange Is The New Black joins a gang (黑幫) or not.

The technology could also potentially be used to allow Princess Margaret to marry Peter Townsend in The Crown, instead of having her relationship with the divorcee (離婚者) blocked by the Establishment.Other storylines will be much more complex, allowing viewers to connect plot points in a variety of ways using their TV remotes.

A source said,"We're doing work on branch narratives (敘事) so you are actually making choices as you watch. All the content will be there, and then people will have to get through it in different ways. We'll see how it plays out. It's an experiment. We'll see if it gets much success. For creators,it's a new field."

Actors would film numerous alternate plot segments (片段) in advance, letting viewers choose which route to take through the story.Netflix will run a trial with choose-your-own-adventure shows for children later this year, based on an established character. If they are successful,it will use the format for TV programmes aimed at adults. Netflix president Reed Hastings confirmed that the company is working on interactive shows, saying,"Once you have got interactivity, you can try anything."

At least five million UK households are thought to be signed up to Netflix, and it is challenging traditional broadcasters.Earlier this year,BBC boss Lord Hall promised to reinvent the iPlayer so that it overtakes Netflix as a destination in its own right, rather than a catch-up service.

1How will viewers connect plot points?

A. By using their TV remotes.

B. By taking part in TV programs.

C. By interacting with actors or actresses.

D. By participating in filming plot segments.

2Why will Netflix run choose-your-own-adventure shows for children?

A. To attempt to create another hit show.

B. To compete with traditional broadcasters.

C. To attract as many children viewers as possible.

D. To test whether their creative ideas are successful.

3What's Reed Hastings' attitude to interactive shows?

A. Confident. B. Doubtful.

C. Negative. D. Worried.

4What's the author's purpose of writing this text?

A. To advertise for Netflix company.

B. To recommend some English hit shows.

C. To predict future development in filming.

D. To introduce the latest technology in TV dramas.

Good evening, everyone! It is my honor to be here to share something with you. Today my topic is “Stop (choose) merit students(優(yōu)秀生)”.
There is no doubt choosing merit students may inspire some students to learn from those models, which make many parents happy, for they always attach great importance to their education. However, this way has its (weak). As we know, the students are still young, and choosing merit students may be (harm) to their mental health by sorting them into good students and bad students. So it (obvious) doesn't benefit them in health. At the same time, teachers are always (drown) in teaching, thus ignoring their virtue and PE, which does more harm good to the growth of students.
As a matter of fact, what is more important is that we should take measures to enter their minds to find they are thinking and desiring. Only in this way can we really find an effective method (guide) them at school. Everyone may have a balanced (develop).
That's all.

Being in good health and staying in shape is a big part of staying sharp. If you choose to be lazy then your body is not going to give you the energy that requires remembering things and completing tasks. However, if you put forth the effort into being health then your body will expel(釋放)the energy you need to achieve your goals.
Ensure enough sleep
Be sure to get the necessary amount of sleep that your body needs to function on a daily basis. It also helps your body build up an energy reserve so you can improve your ability to focus and avoid distractions.
Socialize more
Social interaction will help you develop multitasking, problem solving and other skills that are necessary in life to keep your mind sharp.
