Last year, I went to Australia for a short-term study like an international student.

考查冠詞,during the new party 意思是在新生晚會(huì)期間,此處特指自己成為新生的那個(gè)晚會(huì),故添加the。

We all agreed to this wonderful idea and cooked my unique dishes for the party.意思是我們都同意這個(gè)好的想法并且開(kāi)始準(zhǔn)備特別的晚餐,因?yàn)橹髡Z(yǔ)是we 并不是只有我一個(gè)人,所以將my 改為our.

Hariyati from Indonesia shared a kind of cookie what was shaped like elephant ears意思是

Chiemi from Japan cooked special rice balls mixing with fish.

These variously foods were all delicious. Therefore, my favorite was still Chinese food.

I'm tired and covered in dust. I've been digging all day and I'll be doing the same tomorrow. Sound awful, doesn't it ? But I've never had so many fun in my life. As an archaeology student, I have already knew something about the Qin Tomb and the terracotta warriors. Most Chinese children can tell you Qin Shihuang was theemperor first unified China. He was a brilliant ruler, and he was also a cruel man who killed thousands of people. When he became the king of the state, he immediately ordered workers to construct an underground tomb for him, which is said to contain great treasures. But, the actual entrance to the tomb has everbeen found, nor has the tomb been opened. There are ancient descriptions of cross bows hiding at the tomb's entrance. It's said that if everyone steps across the entrance, the cross bows will fire.

Parents may think they’re smart about where they store medicines, but their kids are smarter. Nearly 60,000 young children are rushed to the hospital every year after getting into medicines not meant for them, according to a new report from Safe Kids Worldwide.

The report finds little connection between what parents know about storing medicines safely and what they actually do. Nine out of 10 parents know that medicines should be stored up and away and out of reach and sight, but 7 out of 10 of them admit not doing that. They leave medicines out on kitchen counters, sinks and sofas, believing babies and toddlers (學(xué)步的兒童) aren’t tall enough or strong enough to reach them. Unfortunately, they probably can. Children as young as a month have ended up in an emergency department because they have been poisoned by getting into a medicine that was left within reach.

Most poisonings related to medicines — particularly among babies and toddlers —occur within their home. Kids develop rapidly and they want to explore their environment. At certain ages they have a lot of activities using their hands and mouths, and so it’s very common for them to explore their environment and then try to taste what they find.

The new Safe Kids Worldwide report includes a survey of 2,000 parents with children under age 6. While the number of children visiting an emergency department for accidental poisonings has declined since the 2010 maximum, the decline has slowed in recent years.

Prescription and over-the-counter medicines cause the most severe poisonings, but vitamins and supplements (補(bǔ)給品) can also cause problems. There are steps families can take to lower the risk for an accidental medicine poisoning.

A. Some of the medicines at home taste nice.

B. There is something poisonous in medicines.

3What is the author likely to write about after the last paragraph?

A. Factors contributing to the mistakes parents have made.

B. Tips that parents can follow to avoid a medicine poisoning.

C. Examples related to vitamin and supplement poisonings.

D. Impressive recovery results in helping patients.

4What could be the best title for the text?

A. Parents’ Casual Behavior Leads to Kids Poisoned

B. The Number of Kids Poisoned Has Declined Lately

C. Nearly 60,000 Children Are Poisoned by Medicines

There are so many expressions in American English that sound pleasant but are not. When someone says they have to “face the music” , it does not mean they are going to a concert. “Facing the music” means to accept and deal with the punishment of an action.
For example, “ I can't face another night of camping! It's a cold and rainy”. Or “In life, you must face your fears”. Face used in this way is very common.
But now, let's go back to facing the music. Imagine a friend asks you to take care of her beautiful red sports car. She gives you the keys and says, “Thanks so much for watching my car while I'm away. But please, do not drive it. It is an extremely fast car.You drive it around town one night. And you lose control of the car and drive it into a stop sign. Bang!
When your returns you must tell her what you have done and “face the music”It could be losing her friendship or paying for repairs to her sports to her sports car or both.
To “take your medicine” means to accept the results from something bad you have done. And if someone says, “You made your bed. Now lie in it” they mean you created a bad station and now you will experience the results.
A. But you do not listen.
B. “Face the music ”is a good example.
C. The “music ” here is the result of your actions.
D. American often use the word “face” in this way.
E. Everyone likes to enjoy a concert in the evening.
F. You are very afraid of losing your trust of your friend.
G. There are other American expressions that mean the same thing as “Face the music”.
