Health experts have long worried about the increasing rate of obesity in kids. It’s an important concern: Being very overweight or obese during childhood can lead to serious problems normally seen in adults, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Poor diets and a lack of exercise are usually the causes. But would you ever have imagined there might be a connection between the bacteria that lived in your guts (內(nèi)臟)when you were a baby and the chance that you would become overweight?
Scientists in Finland recently found just such a link. In a recent study, they showed that overweight kids had different species of bacteria living in their guts.
You probably think of bacteria only as germs that can make you sick. While it’s true that some bacteria can make people ill, your body actually depends on some types of bacteria to help you digest food and extract nutrients from it. These “good” bacteria live in your guts, where they process the food you eat.
Human babies get these bacterial helpers from their moms. When a baby is born, some of the bacteria in the mother move into the baby’s body. Growing babies get additional “good” bacteria from the milk their mothers produce. And it turns out the bacteria might play an important role in regulating weight just six years later.
So how could these bacteria affect weight? The researchers still haven’t tested that question, but future tests might lead to an answer.

Nor will anyone start a step or speak a word to favor their hopes. If they bring on themselves public objections, no one will defend or excuse them, and many will join to criticize their wrongdoings. These should change this bad habit and be pleased with what is pleasing, without worrying needlessly about themselves and others. If they do not, it will be good for others to avoid any contact with them. Otherwise, it can be disagreeable and sometimes very inconvenient, especially when one becomes mixed up in their quarrels.

However, eating low-fat meals that include 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day is an ideal healthy life plan. Therefore, good eating habits are the main way of living a healthy lifestyle.

Secondly, another way of living a healthy lifestyle is physical activity. Exercise is indeed part of life because it keeps the body and mind in good shape. Exercise reduces stress and contributes to (有助于) a good sleep. It can keep a person looking and feeling younger throughout his entire life, and it also helps build one’s energy and strength. Many people do not think too much about their health until they get sick. So, physical activity is another way of living a healthy lifestyle.

Finally, another way is anti-alcoholism. Addiction(上癮) to alcohol may cause serious social and public problems. It is accepted that driving after drinking is dangerous. Alcohol is a main factor of traffic deaths Alcoholism can also lead to diseases, such as heart attack or liver trouble. Thus, anti-alcoholism is another way for a healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, a healthy lifestyle can be maintained in three ways: the first way is good eating habits, the second way is regular physical activity and the final way is anti-alcoholism.

Money, or the lack of it, changes everything, and that includes how people will be working out in 2010.

In these belt-tightening times  1  , cost-conscious workouts(鍛煉)at home and at the gym topped the list of fitness trends for this year in a survey, followed  2   by shorter, more time-efficient regimens, such as  3   boot camp(強力集中訓(xùn)練) and circuit training.

"People are looking  4   for ways to accomplish as much as possible with as little  5   time and money as necessary," said Cedric X. Bryant, chief science officer of the American Council on Exercise (ACE), which conducted the online poll of fitness professionals.

"Last year money was on the list but this  6   year the majority of the respondents put  7   it as one of the top," he added.

Bryant said some 600 ACE-certified fitness  8   professionals responded to the annual poll  9  , which the non-profit organization has been conducting for a decade.

Other money-saving measures  10  , such as the shift from personal training sessions to small group training  11   classes and in-home workouts  12   using smaller, more portable equipment, also made the list.

"Personal trainers are seeing they've got to respond to market needs  13  . Working with two to four clients at a  14   time they can charge less  15   but still get their hourly fee," Bryant said.

Boot-camp workouts and circuit training, both of which burn  16   calories while building strength and endurance(持久性), will be among the most popular trends in 2010, as time-constrained(受壓制的) consumers  17   seek shorter, more intense activities.

One bright spot is the rise of exergaming-type systems, like Nintendo's Wii Sports, Wii Fit and the PC-based Dancetown. Bryant says the fitness-based video games are turning up  18   in health clubs and senior centers.
