⑥expose改為exposed;⑦is改為are;⑧of改為 after;⑨opened 改為 open;⑩laid---lay。

the second theory此處先行詞前有序數(shù)詞修飾,后面的定語(yǔ)從句只能用關(guān)系代詞that引導(dǎo),故把which改為that。

take place”發(fā)生,舉行“;take the place of”頂替,代替“。根據(jù)句意可知把take place of改為take the place of。

one of+名詞復(fù)數(shù),故把coaster 改為 coasters。

with certainty固定詞組”肯定地,確信“,故把with the certainty改為 with certainty。

The questions是句子主語(yǔ),故把is改為are。

be modelled after固定詞組,”根據(jù)......

Last week I took a journey deep into space, to the end of the solar system, and was pulled into a black hole. Then I took a trip to Brazil and experienced surviving an airplane crash in the jungle. After that, I joined some divers and went to the bottom of the ocean to see strange blind creatures that have never seen sunlight. For a break, I took part in some car racing and then skied down some of the most difficult mountains in the world. I ended my travels by meeting face to face with a dinosaur, the terrible T-Rex, and survived the experience!
I did all this in one great day at Futuroscope. Opened in 1987, Futuroscope is one of the largest space age parks in the world. This science and technology-based theme park in France uses the most advanced technology. Its 3-D cinemas and giant movie screens provide brand new experiences of the earth and beyond. Visitors can get close to parts of the world they have never experienced, going to the bottom of the ocean, flying through the jungle or visiting the edges of the solar system. The amazing, up-to-date information together with many opportunities for hands-on learning makes the world come to life in a completely new way for visitors. Learning centers throughout the park let visitors try their own scientific experiments, as well as learn more about space travel, the undersea world and much more.
I bought tickets for myself and my friends at the park's entrance, but tickets are also available online. Futuroscope is not only for indiviudals, but is also the perfect mix of fun and learning for class outings. Classes or other large groups that let Futuroscope know their plans in advance can get the group admission rate. For anyone coming from out of town, Futuroscope has many excellent hotels, most of which provide a shuttle service to the park. If driving, Futuroscope is within easy reach of the freeway. Plan your trip well before starting, since Futuroscope has so many shows, activities and great souvenir shops that it is difficult to see them all. Come ready to walk a lot—be sure to wear some comfortable sneakers or other walking shoes!
(1)What is Futuroscope?
A.A theme park for children in America.
B.A theme park that provides only fun and excitement.
C.A theme park that provides people with outstanding experience without leaving the earth and the present time.
D.A theme park that uses the most advanced technology to take people out of the earth and the present time.
(2)What is the main idea of Paragraph 2?
A.The things I did at Futuroscope.
B.The history of Futuroscope.
C.General information about how to visit the park.
D.A general description of the park.
(3)According to the passage, which of the following is true?
A.Most of us will go to the bottom of the ocean or to the edges of the solar system.
B.Future theme parks are places for fun and excitement but not for learning.
C.Future theme parks allow people to see and do things without danger but with much money.
D.In the future theme parks, there are learning centers for people to try scientific experiments.

Visitors to Britain are sometimes surprised to learn that newspapers there have such a large circulation (發(fā)行). The “Daily Mirror “ and the “Daily express” both sell about four million copies everyday. British families generally buy a newspaper every morning and two or three on Sundays.

Besides the national papers, there is, however, another branch of the British press which sells almost as many copies. Local newspapers have a weekly circulation of 13 million. Almost every town and county area has one. Nearly all of them hold their own financially (財(cái)政) and many of them are very profitable (賺錢(qián)的).

These papers are written almost entirely for readers interested in local events—births, weddings, deaths, council (地方會(huì)議) meetings and sports. Editors prefer to rely on people who know the district well. A great deal of local news is regularly supplied by clubs and churches in the neighborhood and it does not get out to date as quickly as national news.

The editors must never forget that the success of any newspaper depends on advertising (廣告). He is usually anxious to keep the good will of local businessmen for this reason. But if the newspaper is well written and the news items have been carefully chosen to draw local readers, the business men are grateful for the opportunity (機(jī)會(huì)) to keep their products in the public eyes.

The weather is getting hotter and you’ll be getting thirstier playing basketball or riding home from school. A cold drink may be just the thing. But be careful what you pour down your throat. Something that looks cool may not be good for your health.

There are plenty of so-called energy drinks on the market. Most of them have an attractive colour and cool name. Their nutrition list also contains various things from vitamins to ginseng. Sounds great!

But after a careful check you may find that most energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine. These drinks are typically aimed at young people, students, busy people and sports players.

Makers sometimes say their drinks make you better at sports and can keep you awake. But be careful not to drink too much.

Caffeine raises your heartbeat. Because of this, the International Olympic Committee has limited their use. The amount of caffeine in most energy drinks is at least as high as in a strong cup of coffee or strong tea.

Research by Australian scientists has found that many teenagers are affected by caffeine. The results of their survey show that 27 percent of boys aged 8-12 take in more caffeine than their parents.

There are potential health risks linked to energy drinks. Just one can of energy drink can make you nervous, have difficulty sleeping and can even cause heart attacks.

Teenagers should be discouraged from consuming drinks with a lot of caffeine in them, an expert from the Australia Nutrition Foundation said.

1Generally, people would like to ________.

A. take vitamins B. eat ginseng C. have a cold drink D. have a meal

2The International Olympic Committee limit the use of caffeine because ________.

A. it makes you better at sports B. it can keep you awake

C. it can make you nervous D. it make your heart beat fast

3The writer mentions the fact that “27 percent of boys aged 8-12 take in more caffeine than their parents” to show that ________.

A. caffeine has an effect on many teenagers

B. parents should take in more caffeine

C. the caffeine problem is not serious

D. the grownups take less caffeine than children

Would it surprise you to learn that, like animals, trees communicate with each other and pass on their wealth to the next generation?

UBC Professor Simard explains how trees are much more complex than most of us ever imagined. Although Charles Darwin thought that trees are competing for survival of the fittest, Simard shows just how wrong he was. In fact, the opposite is true: trees survive through their cooperation and support, passing around necessary nutrition “depending on who needs it”.

Nitrogen () and carbon are shared through miles of underground fungi (真菌) networks, making sure that all trees in the forest ecological system give and receive just the right amount to keep them all healthy. This hidden system works in a very similar way to the networks of neurons (神經(jīng)元) in our brains, and when one tree is destroyed, it affects all. Simard talks about “mother trees”, usually the largest and oldest plants on which all other trees depend. She explains how dying trees pass on the wealth to the next generation, transporting important minerals to young trees so they may continue to grow. When humans cut down “mother trees” with no awareness of these highly complex “tree societies” or the networks on which they feed, we are reducing the chances of survival for the entire forest “We didn’t take any notice of it.” Simard says sadly. “Dying trees move nutrition into the young trees before dying, but we never give them chance.” If we could put across the message to the forestry industry, we could make a huge difference towards our environmental protection efforts for the future.

1The underlined sentence “the opposite is true” in Paragraph 2 probably means that trees ________.

A. compete for survival B. protect their own wealth

C. depend on each other D. provide support for dying trees

2“Mother trees” are extremely important because they ________.

A. look the largest in size in the forest

B. pass on nutrition to young trees

C. seem more likely to be cut down by humans

D. know more about the complex “tree societies”

3The underlined word “it” in the last paragraph refers to ________.

A. how “tree societies” work B. how trees grow old

C. how forestry industry develops D. how young trees survive

4What would be the best title for the passage?

A. Old Trees Communicate Like Humans

B. Young Trees are In Need Of Protection

C. Trees Are More Awesome Thart You Think

D. Trees Contribute To Our Society
