China has become the first country to land a spacecraft on the far side of the moon. The unmanned Chang’e-4 probe (探測器) - the name was inspired by an ancient Chinese moon goddess 1 (touch) down last week in the South Pole-Aitken basin. Landing on the moon’s far side is 2 (extreme) challenging. Because the moon’s body blocks direct radio communication with a probe, China first had to put a satellite in orbit above the moon in a spot 3 it could send signals to the spacecraft and to Earth. The far side of the moon is of particular 4 (interesting) to scientists because it has a lot of deep craters (環(huán)形山), more so 5 the familiar near side. Chinese researchers hope to use the instruments onboard Chang’e-4 6 (find) and study areas of the South Pole-Aitken basin. 【題目】閱讀下面材料,根據(jù)其內(nèi)容和所給段落開頭語續(xù)寫兩段,使之構(gòu)成一篇完整的短文。續(xù)寫的詞數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右。

During the winter of 1986 I was working in construction near Oakland,California. It is not unusual for construction workers’hands to become very painful during winter after working with concrete, wet woodmud, etc. My hands were no exception that year. They were actually cracking(龜裂)open at the joints in the fingers and thumbs. So I was always conplaining about my hurting hands. I often wondered when my cracked hands would not be painful.

Stopping work because of hurting hands is simply not possible in the construction industry. You grit your teeth(咬緊牙關(guān)),keep working and finish the job—but do further damage to your hands in the process. The only break occurs on weekends. My co-workers and I used to comfort each other almost every day. The pain is similar to that of“paper cuts”occurring many times an hour.

One morning I left for work at 500 a. m. to pour concrete and pulled into a gas station to fuel up. As I got out of my truck,I noticed a newspaper delivery van(有篷貨車)and the driver struggling with bales(大捆)of daily newspapers. I took a second look and noticed that the man was born with arms that ended halfway down each forearm. I was amazed to see him doing a job that would otherwise require a very physically gifted person. Still,he was somewhat struggling with the large bales because his arms simply weren’t long enough to carry these bales. Instead he had to“pinch”the bales and lift them with his short and thick arms. Then I found he had difficulty tying his shoes although he had tried many times. I wondered how I could give him some help.

【題目】 Since it first opened after four years of construction in 1937 at a cost of $27 million, the Golden Gate Bridge has made its appearance in films and poetry.

CNN Travel spent a day climbing into and ground the bridge, learning these secrets from the people who know and love it best.

Why is it called the Golden Gate Bridge? It’s not golden.

“The Golden Gate Bridge gets its name because it spans what is called the Golden Gate Strait,”said Paolo Cosulich-Schwartz,spokesman for the Golden Gate Bridge,Highway and Transportation District, which operates the bridge. It’s a three-mile-long and one-mile-wide body of water that connects the Pacific Ocean to the San Francisco Bay.

What color is the bridge? It looks red.

“It’s not red, although you’re not crazy to think so. Visitors all call it red,”said Russell. “Back in the day,the US Navy, then part of the War Department, oversaw the waterways and wanted to paint this bridge black and yellow for high visibility”said fellow painter Jarrod Bauer. “They ended up mixing paint to create the color International Orange, which is similar to the color of red lead,”he said.

Does the bridge get entirely painted every year?

No,and it doesn’t need to be. It’s true that the top coat has been fully repainted over time with new and environmentally-improved International Orange top coats.

Who performs bridge rescues?

McVeigh and his fellow ironworkers, the so—called“Cowboys of the Sky”,have that responsibility. McVeigh has lost count of how many troubled souls he’s been called to rescue over the past 17 years.

In September in 2018,the bridge started constructing a suicide(自殺)prevention system, also known as the safety net,to keep people from jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s expected to be completed in 2021.

1What’s the true color of the Golden Gate Bridge?

A.Red.B.Red lead.

C.Black and yellow.D.International Orange.

2Who can probably be called a hero on the Golden Gate Bridge?

A.McVeigh.B.Jarrod Bauer.

C.Russell.D.Paolo.

3What can we know about the Golden Gate Bridge?

A.It is safer now because of the safety net.

B.It got its name because of its color.

C.It took much time and money to be built.

D.It needs to be repainted once a year.
