Test anxiety involves severe stress before, during or after exams, making it impossible to do your best. It can make your heart feel as if it is racing, and you may submit to (屈從于) “negative self-talk”, convincing yourself you are going to fail or upset. These stressful thoughts, not surprising, can block your brain’s ability to find what is stored in its memory, as well as making it harder to understand the questions and organize your thoughts. Is it possible to stop test anxiety?

Developing good study habits, understanding the exam format (格式) and marking scheme (評分方案) can all help to reduce anxiety. But for a greater effect, other methods are also needed, such as relaxation techniques in which you lie down before the exam, close your eyes and focus on breathing while tensing and relaxing group muscles in turn (legs, arms and stomach).

A study looked at anxious students in maths exams and concluded that writing about how worried you feel before the exam may also reduce anxiety.

Be as prepared as possible before the exam, arrive early, and repeat positive statements such as: “Everyone feels anxious; I know I can do this.” Just as in a race, do not look at what everyone else around you is doing. Focus on the paper in front of you. Do a quick skim to evaluate the feel of the overall test. If you feel nervous, take deep breaths and remember that it is just a test.

The summer vacation is coming soon. I was very happy because I can forget about my school at most for a while. I have made a plan which I should spend it meaningfully. Last Saturday, I , with a friend of mine, were having a picnic in a park when it began to rain heavily. We packed everything up rapid and were ready to leave. My friend, her hair was already wet, suddenly couldn’t move and speak. Her eye were rolling and she was about to lose consciousness. I was so frightening that I didn’t know how to doo. The ancient Olympic Games began in a year 776 BC. They held at Olympia in Greece every four years, for almost 12 centuries, until AD 394. In the ancient Olympics, by tradition the athletes were all men but they had to compete wearing no clothes. Today, both male and female athletes from around the world can take part, no matter whatever nation they come from. Chinese athletes have great contributed to the Olympic Games where many of them won gold medals, such as Xu Haifeng, Deng Yaping and Liu Xiang, the first Asian to winning the gold medal in the men’s 110-meter hurdles. The whole of China must have felt pride of them when they won. There are some of the Olympic athletes who they have brought joy to people across the world with their attempt to push the boundaries of human achievement.
