I live in a big city and I used to the high buildings and never-ending crowds, so the first time I went to the countryside, everything were so new and interesting to me. The surroundings there were beautiful but the air was fresh. I even made a friend here and he taught me how to catching shrimps(蝦). He tells me, “You should walk softly. The more softly, the more better. The little shrimp is not sensitive with light. While shining a flashlight at it, you should catch them quickly.” I acted as he told me, and sure enough I caught the big one on my first try. I liked life there.

【2】were was

【3】but and

【4】here there

【5】catching catch

【6】tells told

【7】去掉more

【8】with to

【9】them it

【10】thea

Be used to sth習(xí)慣于, used to過(guò)去常常,根據(jù)句意可知此處是指作者習(xí)慣了高樓和川流不息的車(chē)輛,根據(jù)文章的背景時(shí)態(tài)可知用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí),在I后面加am。

【2】 were was 考查動(dòng)詞時(shí)態(tài)。根據(jù)主謂一致的原則可知everything做主語(yǔ)時(shí)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式,把were改為was。

【3】 but and 考查連詞。

【4】here there 考查副詞。

此句是the+比較級(jí),the+比較級(jí)結(jié)構(gòu),而better本身是比較級(jí),不需要加more,故去掉more。

【8】with to考查代詞。固定短語(yǔ):be sensitive to對(duì)敏感,把with改為to。

【9】them it考查代詞。從句意可知此處指a flashlight,故用it代替them。

The more people I meet, the more I love my dog. Every day I am reminded why I love him so much.

Three weeks before Christmas in 2008 at about 2:00 in the morning, my dog woke us up out of a sound sleep because someone was knocking at our door. He barked in front of me as if to protect me from the stranger who was knocking. My husband answered, and it was a local police officer telling us that my father-in-law had called the police because he forgot our number. My mother-in-law was suffering from a brain disease and was in the hospital. We thanked the officer and raced to the hospital. We would have taken him, but the hospital would consider him to be a dirty pet.

After visiting the hospital we drove home and hugged our dog once more. At this point it was unlikely that little dog remembered waking us up. What he did remember was that we left him alone for several hours and he missed us. He thought we missed him, too, so he greeted us at the door with his tail wagging (搖擺).

Someone tried to break in our house that summer, but, once again, our little dog saved the day. Our curtains were damaged, but no one got in. When I got home from work, I found parts of my curtains lying on the floor. We called the police and the officer said that he did a great job.

My dog is a loving sweet dog who just wants some attention. I worked with him for months and now he sits, dances, sings, shakes hands, and so much more. The best part is he looks out for me as much as I look out for him.

My husband says the dog is spoiled (寵壞的); I say he finally has a loving home.

A. her mother-in-law was ill

B. her father-in-law called her

C. someone was knocking at the door

D. someone had broke into her house

2Why did the police say the dog did a great job?

A. The dog saved the author.

B. The dog stopped the thief.

C. The dog did well what people told it.

D. The dog helped to find the thief.

3The purpose of the text is to tell readers _____.

A. why the author’s dog is her best friend

B. what the proper attitude towards dogs is

C. what dogs can bring us

D. how to raise dogs

Patience is of great importance in our daily life. Once I waited a bus to come at a stop. 30 minutes past, but no bus came. Both upset and annoyed, I decided to walk on feet. But no sooner had I left when the bus arrived. I thought if I had waited for one more minute, I would have caught it. If I chose to take a next bus, I would have to wait for other 30 minutes. Only then do I realize my problem. Being impatient will possible waste all the effort that we have put it in. Now whenever I am close to lose my patience, I’ll think of this experience.
