It is clear shown that many middle school students have physical and mental problems. 68% of the students surveying have studying anxiety as well as poor eyesight too. And a larger percentage lacks sleep. 52% are short of physical exercise. 42% of the students won’t obey our parents or teachers. Personally, I think we student should balance our physical exercise and studies. Without sound body, one can’t achieve anything. However, too much attention has been paid only on studies. As a result, I suggest we are given less homework or more time for out-of-classroom activities. Only in this way can we live a happy and healthy life.

1. clear—clearly

2. surveying—surveyed

3. too 刪掉

4. lacks—lack

5. our—their

6. student—students

7. without 后加“a”

8. on---to

9. are—be

10. or---and

故刪去too。

故our改為their。

pay attention to sth。故on改為to。

suggest后跟賓語(yǔ)從句,謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用should+動(dòng)詞原形,should可以省略。故are改為be。

故or改為and。

Selfie

Social media and the mobile web have given rise to a strange phenomenon called the selfie. It refers to a picture of yourself, usually shared on any social networking website.

【1】 Some selfies are extreme close-ups, and others show part of an arm held straight outward. A few of them even feature the subject standing in front of a bathroom mirror.

Everyone takes selfies, but the younger crowd seems to be especially involved in the trend. Young people are relatively heavier digital users. They are interested in staying connected to their friends. __2__

There are also kinds of psychological factors driving people to take a selfie and upload it to a social networking site. 3 A quick and easy way to attract other's attention is to get “l(fā)ikes” and comments from friends. Secondly, it's human nature to show off your own great achievements. When you feel good about yourself or look good, it's far too easy to take out your phone and document it all through one or several selfies. 4 That's right. Sometimes people are bored at work, bored at school, bored at home and even bored on the toilet. Last but not least, social media is about being social! If that means uploading as many selfies as possible, then so be it. It's fun, and it's a cool way to sort of document your own life.

Finally, there are things to be mindful of when you're posting. It's easy to think you're sharing a photo with a /span>few people. 5 So don't post anything online, selfie especially.

A. There are lots of selfie styles.

B. The rise of selfies has become universal.

C. Social media, to some extent, is the driving force of their selfie activity.

D. The desire to take, post and get “l(fā)ikes” on selfies goes back to a biological behavior.

E. But the whole world of social media is public and every individual can get access to it.

F. There are also people who will take selfies because they have nothing else better to do.

G. The leading factor is that people want to get attention from as many people as possible.

Back home from the Navy, I started school at Greenville College in my hometown of Illinois. I’d been out of high school for four years, but my high school headmaster, Mr. Gardner, invited me to a Valentine’s Day dance party at school. The thought of seeing my former teachers was exciting. So I agreed.

When Friday came, I cleaned up, dressed up and drove to the high school gym. I chatted with my teachers and approached Mr. Gardner to thank him before leaving. Just then, the band started playing and a young girl stood up to sing. One look at her and I was crazy — I had never seen such a beautiful girl!

I asked Mr. Gardner who she was, and he answered, “That’s Marilyn Riley, Cut Riley’s daughter.” I was shocked to say the least. They lived just around the comer from me. I walked across the gym floor to introduce myself, “Hi, Fm Jack Joseph.’’

“I know who you are,” was her not-too-friendly response.

“Would you like to dance?” I asked. “No! I’m working,” she shot back.

“Can I call you next week for a movie date?” I asked. “No” was her response.

For the next month I phoned, trying to set up a date. She always had the same answer: No. Then one rainy afternoon in March as I was driving home after basketball practice, I saw Marilyn, walking with no umbrella, no raincoat and no hat. I pulled alongside her and asked if she needed a ride, half expecting her to say no. Instead, she stepped over the roadside and sat down on the seat next to me. It was only a few blocks to her house, but after pulling into her driveway we talked for 45 minutes. It was magic from then on.

A. The party was held to welcome him back home.

B. Marilyn would be introduced to him at the party.

D. it was Marilyn’s cold attitude that interested Jack

4How would the story most probably develop in the end?

Last winter, my classmates and I went to London to attending a winter camp. To better understand the history and culture of a city, we scheduled a “museum trip”. In Saturday morning we got up early and studied the map carefully to work out the route. One of my classmates suggested go there by bus to enjoy the street view. It was a long ride, so that we got off the double-decker bus, we seemed to lose way. The streets looked busy and strangely, and we have had to ask a passer-by for help. She pointed out the right direction and wished us a good day. Thanks to the friendly woman, we finally got to our destination. It took us some effort, however we witnessed the real beauty of the city. The experience also abled us to practise our English. What a terrific experience!
