英語(yǔ)中的不定冠詞a/an表示泛指,本句中an修飾lady,表示泛指“一個(gè)年老的女士”。

句式be about to do sth when.....

【5】that改為who 考查定語(yǔ)從句。

【9】刪除it后to 考查固定結(jié)構(gòu)。固定結(jié)構(gòu)let sb/sth do sth讓某人/某事發(fā)生,其中的不定式符號(hào)to是要省略。

【10】my前加up 考查固定短語(yǔ)。要在mind的前面加所有格構(gòu)成短語(yǔ)make up one's mind 下定決心;

Teachers say the digital age has had a good influence and a not-so-good influence on this generation of American teenagers. More than 2,000 high school teachers took an online survey.

75 percent of the teachers said the Internet and digital search tools have had a “mostly positive” effect on their students' research habits and skills. But 87 percent agreed that these technologies "make the students not have enough attention.” And 64 percent said the technologies “do more to distract students than to help them academically.”Many students think “doing research” now means just doing a quick search on Google.

Judy Buchanan is a director of the National Writing Project. Ms. Buchanan says digital research tools are helping students learn more, and learn faster. Teachers really like these tools, because they are ways to make some of learning exciting. Young people enjoy using these tools. And the goal is to help them become creative students of meaningful work, and not just that kind of copyist.

But one problem the survey found is that many students don't have a good understanding of how to use the digital knowledge well. In other words, they trust(信任) too much of the information. Judy Buchanan says these students have not developed the skills they need to tell whether the online information is good or bad.

Another problem the survey found is something that might not seem like a problem, at all, being able to quickly find information online. Teachers say the ability of their students to work hard to find answers is becoming weaker. They say students depend too much on search engines (引擎) and do not make enough use of printed books or research, librarians.

Besides, many teachers are also worried about the problem that the Internet makes it easy for students to copy work done by others, instead of using their own abilities.

1Most of the teachers might agree that .

A. the digital age only has had a good influence on teenagers.

B. digital search tools have had a positive effect on students’ research.

C. the digital age has had a bad influence on students’ study.

D. technologies can only distract students.

2What does the underlined part in Paragraph 2 mean?

A. Google can do all the job for students.

B. Google helps students do research.

C. Students just use something they found online when doing research.

D. A quick search on Google means a success in research.

3Which of the following is NOT the disadvantages of digital age?

A. Online information may not be reliable.

B. Students can easily find the information they needs.

C. Copying work may arise among students.

D. Students won’t use their own abilities.

People hunt sharks for sport, food, medicine and their skin. Experts say the international market for some kinds of sharks has increased greatly because many parts of a shark are valuable. 4 . When you want to find a job, you have to face the employer and you must know how to introduce yourself well. Then you will be lucky enough.

The first impressions can play a major role in how an employer like you as a candidate(求職者). What you say during the first step of the interview may make a big difference. In fact, some hiring managers may make a decision to refuse a candidate based on what they didn’t do when you met them. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to interview manners and to carefully think through how you will introduce yourself during a job interview.

When arriving at the interview site you can introduce yourself to the receptionist (接待員) by giving your name and telling the purpose of your visit. For example: “My name is Tim Jones and I have an interview scheduled with John Smith at 2 pm.” You will be guided into the interview room or the hiring manager will come out to meet you in the reception area. Again, take the time to introduce yourself so the interviewer knows who you are.

Offer to shake hands, even if the interviewer doesn’t offer his hand first. Tell the interviewer that it is a pleasure to meet him. Smile, and be sure to make eye contact.

Many hiring managers will start an interview with an open-ended question like “Tell me

about yourself.” Your response should focus on the key elements in your background. You should carefully analyze the job first to the interviewer, and you can point out the interests, skills, experiences, and personal qualities.

Your introduction should be brief enough to hold the interest of the interviewer so that you can move on to the next question. Your goal is to connect personally with the interviewer as well as to show that you’re qualified for the job. Of course, your comments should show your enthusiasm for the job and organization. However, don’t overdo it and don’t spend too much time talking about yourself.

【1】What is the purpose of the author to write this passage ?

A. To tell candidates how to go to a reception desk.

B. To tell candidates how to introduce themselves when finding a job.

C. To give some suggestions on how to be a good interviewer.

D. To give some tips on how to be a good receptionist.

2If the interviewer doesn’t offer his hand first, you should ________.

A. ask the interviewer an open-ended question

B. shake hands without looking at the interviewer

C. offer your hand before the interviewer

D. introduce yourself briefly first

3The passage is very useful for _______.

A. anyone who will go to an interview

B. a future receptionist

C. a hiring manager

D. anyone who wants to visit a company
